Adding or editing a web service definition
A web service definition lets you use an ILS (either Symphony or Horizon) web service instance for authenticating administrative and patron logins and determining authorization for those logins, as well as providing other services. For more information, see Setting up Web Services authentication or Adding or editing a Discovery source site. You can add as many web service definitions as you need.

To add or edit a web service definition
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Choose Web Services.

Do one of the following:
- Choose Add Web Service.
- Choose Edit for the web service you want to modify.
- Complete or modify the fields, as necessary. For more information, see Fields: Add/Edit Web Service.
- After you have entered the Web Service URL, click Test Connection to verify that the URL has been entered correctly. If it has, "Test Successful" appears next to the button and the ILS and Web Services versions are listed below the Web Service URL field.
- Choose OK to save your changes, or choose Cancel to discard your changes and return to Web Services.
